Training offers more than the ability to have your dog sit on command or correct bad behaviors. It establishes a bond between you and your dog and develops the respect that is needed for a healthy relationship. It also increases your dog's confidence and understanding of what is expected of him. We know your relationship with your dog is important to you. It's our goal to see that you have a long and happy life together. Hal Wheeler's - "School For Dogs" offers the pet owner a various training programs depending on the needs of you and your dog. Our extensive experience in evaluating your dog’s character allows us to apply the proper training methods in order to achieve success.  At Hal Wheeler's - "School For Dogs" we offer the following training curriculum and protocols for your selection:

Puppy Kindergarten: Prevent bad habits before they start!
You and your puppy spend a private 30 minute session with a professional trainer learning all the basics of raising a puppy. Leash training, housebreaking, diet are all covered. This is followed by four (4) 30 minute weekly group classes which are aimed at socialization and preliminary training.

  • Designed for puppies 2 to 4 months of age.

  • Group classes continue until the puppy reaches four months of age.

  • No refunds after the first class - store credit only.

  • Must be properly inoculated to attend group classes.

  • Classes held Saturday 11:15am.

Group Training Classes - Eight One Hour Classes
Alongside other students and their owners, you and your dog are trained in 8 weekly one hour group sessions, under the instruction and guidance of a professional trainer. The curriculum is highly concentrated and only a daily 30 minute workout is necessary between classes.

  • Tuition for each course includes video & professional equipment.

  • Minimum age is 4 months.

  • Must be properly inoculated to attend group classes.

  • Lessons are conducted in our 4000 square foot Training Arena.

  • No refunds after the first class - store credit only.

  • Classes held Thursday 7pm and Saturday 10am

Private Instruction & Lessons - Seven 30 Minute Sessions
Throughout the course of seven weeks, both you and your dog are trained weekly half-hour sessions, under the instruction and guidance of a professional trainer. Being a highly-concentrated curriculum, only a daily thirty-minute workout between lessons is needed at home to develop a well-mannered, obedient dog.  The curriculum is highly concentrated and only a daily 30 minute workout at home between lessons is needed to develop a well-mannered, obedient dog.

  • Tuition for each course includes video & professional equipment.

  • Minimum age is 4 months.

  • Must be properly inoculated to attend group classes.

  • Lessons are conducted in our 4000 square foot Training Arena.

  • Private training session are held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

Inboard Behavior Dog Course - Have your dog trained professionally at our boarding school!
At a minimum age of six months, your dog can be trained by us at our facility.  He or she can either live with us for the duration of training, or can be picked up at the end of each day and brought back in the morning (for those less eager to lave their dog overnight!).  Lessons are also included to instruct the owner on proper handling of their dog, and take place once the inboard training course is complete.  Generally, training takes one to four weeks, depending on the individual client.

  • Tuition for Inboard training includes video and professional equipment.

  • Must be properly inoculated to participate in Inboard Behavior Dog Course.

  • Pricing $500 per week + the cost of boarding when applicable (all breeds).
